Emotional Wellbeing Play and Youth Worker

Contract: Fixed term for 12 months

Hours: 38 per week

Salary: £33,175

Please note this role will require a DBS check to be taken after the appointment.

We are looking for an experienced play or youth worker or social prescriber to specialise in promoting the emotional well-being of children and young people aged 10-17 as they await assessment for Autism Spectrum Conditions and/or following a recent diagnosis. You will develop personal plans to address emotionally based school avoidance and barriers to engagement with education, including supporting the young person, family and school to implement adjustments and self-management strategies.There will also be two sessions a week of universal play and youth work delivery.

The role will be based at Rose Bowl youth hub with regular visits to other community youth provision in Islington.

You will be part of the Isledon Emotional Wellbeing team who are an inspiring and supportive group of youth work professionals working with young people across Islington. Click here for more information about our current Emotional Wellbeing Team

This new role is part of an exciting pilot programme that Isledon Arts CIC is running on behalf of Islington Council in partnership with the NHS North Central Integrated Care Board. There will be flexibility in how the pilot is run as we will learn as it develops.
